Title: Radio Brian's RF Rack
Post by: BriansBrain on 21.08.2022, 14:30
 ;)

This is Radio Brian's little RF amplifier Rack.  ::)
Brian's Amp Rack.jpg
It's fed from the Computer room one floor below by an MPX audio signal.

The MPX signal goes into a 1W exciter which generates the frequency and the stereo signal,
that goes into a 15W variable power booster amp,

which in turn feeds the 150W linear amplifier :)

That feeds a Dominator antenna on the roof which has a 6dB gain
so the ERP (effective radiated power) is = 300W  :yes

The RF rack is +/- 50% efficient, it consumes a continuous 305W.
It's on 16.4hrs a day so 305W x 16hrs = 5kwh per day  ::)

Having a little radio station for a hobby is not cheap  :no

No mate, adverts would mean too many problems...  :whistle
Sales people need contracts and a basic wage.
Register Brian as a business with the local authorities.
Declare income, get a Spanish accountant, pay TAX.

I would get denuncias from all directions (Legal complaints).
As it is it's just a Hobby so nobody can complain about anything...
Well... apart from not playing enough Barry White songs  :rofl1
