Title: Star Trek Strange Worlds
Post by: Lee on 02.04.2025, 23:26
Although I loved the original series and the newer (2009-16) movies, I'm not really a fan of Star Trek.
Saw this trailer and thought it was an April Fools day joke  ::)
Turns out it's season 3  :scratchhead

So for anyone who's into this  ;)

That would be me then...I've been a fan of Star Trek since James Tiberius Kirk started...I know it's not him now but I've enjoyed the escapism of most of the ST stuff to date

Still watch the original series once in a while (on Legend channel every day)
The 3 new (Chris Pine as Kirk) movies I've watched so many times I can't remember, just brilliant.
Did watch the next gen ones with Picard at the time, but got bored with all the follow up series and haven't seen many of them.
Same with Star Wars, Movies were oK but so many spin-offs  ::)  Only watching Andor because Gary had a hand in it

I wasn't a great lover of Deep Space Nine and I just couldn't get into Enterprise at all (I couldn't get it out of my head that Scott Bakula was in Quantum Leap) and the chief engineer 'Trip Tucker' had such a southern drawl that just rubbed me up the wrong way.

In my opinion Strange New Worlds is a good series.
Mostly stories being wrapped up in one or two episodes depicted in a mostly classic trek style.
Well.. except for maybe the episode where they were dancing & singing but I got a laugh out of that one.

One of the more recent series that I didn't like was Discovery.
There wasn't a lot of action, it had a lot of the camera spinning around people talking to each other on the bridge making me dizzy.
Plus it had certain aspects being forced onto the viewers which I'm not fond of.. it's probably best not to elaborate with specifics else it might offend someone.

@Dave: In my opinion Enterprise has some decent episodes.
They added to the mirror (alternate reality) plot line which was a decent episode & I thought the 3rd season was the best using its entirety for the Xindi storyline.

Did anyone here ever watch the online series called Star Trek Continues?
I know most of the online series have terrible effects & are usually cheesy but Star Trek Continues was done fairly well.
If you haven't watched it, I suggest you check it out.

Now I did like that and was a bit disappointed it finished

I suppose it's each to his own

I had all the items from Star Trek that I bought for my son.

The most interesting was a blueprint of the Set for the movie.

I'm wondering what the Millineum Falcon would be selling for now in good condition.
