But... with many of the oldies 1975 and older = to +/- 400 of them...
The main difference would be the Vinyls are all the original versions.
Whereas the digital versions... well...  :scratchhead

I know from personnel experience  :whistle

It is a great annoyance when you know the original vinyl off by heart due to playing it a thousand times, then you get a CD versions which are just different.
Have downloaded some favourites that can have 10+ slightly different versions from compilation albums

Know what you mean  :club

I spent months and months getting reasonable quality digital versions of the
real original charted vinyl versions of tracks I needed for my Radio Station.

Happy to say now I have all, except one  :no

Danyel Gérard - Butterfly (English Version) CBS BA-221854

The only original charted vinyl version available is on YouTube.
It's only low quality but it's better than nothing.
*NOTE*
This is the Australian version of the UK release CBS 7454

The only way to tell the original CBS 7454 / CBS BA-221854 is the lyrics
The first four words are...
You are as bright

Any other Lyrics = Remake  :whistle

Ah you're talking about the later re-issue
Original was from 1970 CBS 5420 3:23

But to demonstrate the digital problem, that's at least 3 different openings  ::)
Your video version above starts with "You are as bright"
The one I posted earlier is "You're bright"
and the one from the comp is "Fell in love"

Another bit of a barztard to find was
P.P. Arnold - The First Cut Is The Deepest - 1967

I eventually found a good quality mp3  ;)

Here is the real version on YouTube Immediate Cat# IM 047

*NOTE*
The correct lyrics in the Original Mono Hit Recording
Go like this... after the instrumental break at 2:38...

baby! I know, the first cut is the deepest,
oh, you know, the first is the deepest, first cut is the deepest,
but, when it comes to being lucky, he's cursed,
when it comes to loving me, he's worst!
but, when it comes to being lucky... (fade out)

Any other version of the lyrics at that point then it's a remake  ::)

Interesting, just downloaded the lyrics from Britburn and they are totally different?
Other than the title it's a completly different song  :scratchhead

Have to let them know, they usually like to get things right  :)

Just tried my PP Arnold ones, the better quality ones have the different ending
But the 96kbps one does sound right.

I only tend to notice the ones from around 1973-1985 which was my big single buying period  :)

If it's the correct version it must be from the 7" Mono Vinyl then.
& @ 96kbps could be a YouTube rip  ;)

In my experience after 1975 I found very few remake/rerecorded tracks   ::)
