Watch batteries - replacing and saving

I just finished replacing the batteries in these watches for my sister who had them for a long time but never used them very often.  Here's a tip. If you don't use a watch and you want to save the battery (indefinitely) pull the stem out which stops the watch and saves the battery.
Another tip.  Watch batteries #377 are five in a pack and inexpensive at dollar stores. $1.50 Canadian.
Buy some now and stock up on them because they will be going up in price and will no longer be available because they are switching to lithium instead of alkaline. Lithium is more expensive.
Battery #357 button style for calculators, etc. are no longer available at the dollar stores in my area.
You can get those in lithium but expensive.  $15 for three on Amazon plus delivery.

It requires a bit of patience to open the watch case because some of them are stubborn.  Would you believe you need a sharp knife and a whack with a small hammer.
