Creating New Categories

The walkthrough below is how to add categories to your quiz.

NOTE: If you are going to add the PHP/XML quizzes questions from this site the I suggest you create categories with the same name as they are on this site because then, when you install the quizzes, they will automatically go into those categories this saves you doing them manually at a later date

It might seem simple enough but the first thing to do is decide what you want to call the category.

Then find an image file, .png or .jpg at 64 x 64 pixels or a bigger file that you can resize, that you will associate with the category (remember where it is). You can also download premade images here https://www.quizland.co.uk/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;id=7310

Now go to 'Admin/Forum/Quiz/and click on 'Categories'



Go to the bottom of the page and click on 'New category'



When the new page opens
1 name the category in the title box then
2 add the description in the box below that
3 'Choose File' button and browse to the location where your image is stored
4 Now click 'Upload' you should see the image file name appear in the box above.



5 Now click 'Save Category' once you do that you will be presented with a blank new category page, if you are only creating 1 new category then close that page by clicking on the 'Categories' button again.

This will take you back to the categories list and if you were successful your new category will show up in the list.

 

If it's there click on 'Quiz' in the forum menu at the top of the forum page, then go to 'Categories' you should now see your new category on that page along with the image you chose.
